Retired judge featured in The New York Times in Jan. 2012.

His amazing story begins in a house without electricity, being raised by his father who had a second grade education, living with twelve siblings and attending a segregated school.  His life took a sharp turn when he stole a book, discovered reading, and started on an amazing and inspiring journey!
